Seniors I need advice have an American Eskimo Dog.21 yrs. old totally blind.What do I do? Has no life at all.?

We inherited him from our kids because he fell into the pool and almost drowned. He was going blind then.Now all he does is sleep and when I let him outdoors he barks,I am sure he is not sure of his surroundings and so would it be inhumane to have him put to sleep? He stays in the laundry room for the winter.Just asking please don't beat me up.
