I burned my hand yesterday. Will it scar?

I accidentally spilled boiling hot soup over my hand yesterday; I immediately ran it under cold water for over an hour. The pain lasted all night, and though the redness has decreased, it looks like a port-wine birthmark. The burn is definitely very superficial. Will the redness go away?
