My brother violated his probation with a new charge will they reinstate his probation or look him up for awhil?

he was on probation for poss and delivery of cannibas and 2 counts of dealing in stolen property and grand theft he violated with a larceny charge will they reinstate his probation or will he do time and how long he was on probation for four yrs is what he was suppose to do but violated
